Howdy y'all!

Hope the first round of tests went well. We are having practice tomorrow at 8pm.It's the last practice we are having before sectionals! Here is some information about sectionals:

Sectionals

• **If you have not payed your $20 sectionals fee, please pay online here: https://secure.touchnet.com/C21490_ustores/web/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=2135 or pay during practice**
• Captains should have contacted you by now. If they have not, please let us know ASAP. Make sure to ask your captain where we are staying and what courts we are playing on if you do not already know
• If you are going to sectionals make sure to fill out the attached waiver form and get it to your captain BEFORE going to Austin

Volunteer Opportunity

Junior Team Tennis (JTT) for 10 & Under and 12 & Under Beginners starts March 4 at Aerofit. They will be playing every Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:30 beginning March 4 and running through April 8 (skipping March 11 for Spring Break).  This format does require a little more instruction and attention,but is still geared toward having fun! 

Please send an email to the club email if you are interested in this volunteer opportunity.

Sectionals is right around the corner, so I hope y'all have been able to get out and hit. If you haven't, we are having practice tomorrow at 4pm. A couple notes about the tournament:

LAST DAY FOR BIG EVENT SIGN UP

The last day to sign up for the Big Event is tomorrow!! (Friday) 

 

The sign up is run through Big Event, so tennis club can't add anyone to our Big Event team after tomorrow.  Here is the link:

In case y'all don't know, the Big Event is a campus wide service project where over 10,000 students help the community.  If you're not sure about it, just do it!

 

Also, another opportunity to make some money whilst still playing tennis:

 

The Brazos Christian School needs an assistant coach.  You'll be coaching 15 Jr High and 22 high school players.  The practices are M-TH from 3-6 and Friday 2:30-4.  Help will be accepted even if unable to go every day.  The season only runs through the end of April, and will pay $800.  Please email back the club if you are able to help.

Sectionals Info / Big Event Sign Up

Howdy y'all!

Good luck to everyone on their first round of exams coming up. We are having practice tomorrow at 8pm if you want to take a break from studying, so you can come out and hit. Here is some info:

Sectionals 

• If you did not attend at least two Reed Clean Ups then remember you must pay $20 in order to go to sectionals. For those that want to pay online, the link is here: https://secure.touchnet.com/C21490_ustores/web/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=2135
• WE STILL HAVE A COUPLE SLOTS OPEN FOR GIRLS IF ANYONE WANTS TO CLAIM THEM, SEND AN EMAIL TO TENNIS CLUB IF INTERESTED!
• Sectionals teams have not yet been finalized; an email with the teams will come out shortly
• Team captains will be contacting you shortly with details of the tournament

Volunteer Opportunity

Johnson Elementary is going to do the Kids'Club after school program. All the Kids' Club program amounts to is setting out rackets, balls, and nets and letting the kids do whatever they want.  It is minimal to no instruction, supervision only to insure safety, and it would only last an hour or so after school. Johnson Elementary will need help Thursdays from 3:25-4:15pm. 

Big Event Sign Up

The Big Event is the largest single-day student run service project in the nation. Participating in the Big Event allows us to say "thank you" to the Bryan/College Station area for its continued support throughout the years. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event, and it will be bigger than ever. Service projects range from painting houses, yard work, and picking up leaves (last year's tennis club service assignment).

GIRLS NEEDED FOR SECTIONALS ASAP/TODAY

WE NEED GIRLS TO PLAY SECTIONALS!!

 

If you are a girl, you are reading this email, and you are currently not playing sectionals, please respond to this email saying who you are and a phone number for a team captain to contact you.

 

If you know of a girl that knows what tennis is and is willing to play in Sectionals on March 2-4, please respond to this email with their contact info or have them get a hold of the club and have them give us contact info.  They don't have to be with the club.... just convince them to play!

 

Please respond ASAP.... responding today would be super duper awesome.

Waco Cancellation / Sectionals Focus

Howdy y'all!

Unfortunately the Waco Tournament was cancelled because of the inclement weather, but on the bright side this meant that some of y'all didn't have to wake up before the sun rose. Now that the Waco Tournament is passed us, our focus is now on sectionals.

Waco Tournament

We will be meeting at 5:30am on Saturday morning in the parking lot in front of the intramural/varsity tennis courts.
