Howdy,

I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving break! I'm sure ya'll are busy studying for finals, so I'll try to keep this short:

• We have our last two practices of the semester this Wednesday & Thursday @ regular times (no practice next week). It will also be your last chance (this semester), to pick up shirts.

• We will be having our Christmas social/white elephant this Friday, 8:30 p.m @ 1113 Gridiron Drive. Make sure to bring a gift (anything below $20 is fine), wrap it up real nice, & enjoy some hot cocoa with the tennis club fam ☕️☕️

Halloween Practice and Social

The tournament will take place Friday September 27- Sunday September 29. However most will be Saturday and Sunday.  Make sure you pay dues ASAP because you need to in order to play. Both cost the same($75/year or $50/semester), but prices will go up to $80/year starting next Thursday. Per semester dues will remain at $50/semester. You MUST pay dues in order to play in tournaments(ranking tournament included)!

Club Tennis Updates

Howdy!

 

First week of practices went great and we were glad to see y'all out there! This week, practices will be at the same time:

 

Today and Thursday 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Intramural Courts.

 

This week will be the last week there will be someone with a credit card terminal at the front accepting dues so make sure you come out this week if you plan on playing tournaments. Paying dues online should be set up by this weekend and are $75 until next Wednesday. After next Wednesday, dues will increase to $80.

Howdy everyone!

I hope the first week of classes went well for y'all and the transition from the summer was okay! Here is some information about this upcoming week regarding practices.

Wednesday September 4 - Intramural Courts - 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Thursday September 5 - Intramural Courts - 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Make sure you bring your student ID as you will need this to get access to the courts. If you just want to come hit and meet people, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. You do not need to pay dues to come to any of the practices.

Officer Elections

It's that time of the year again! We will be opening officer elections for the 2019-2020 school year. There are 4 executive positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. As well as 5 non-executive officers, who are selected by the executive officers: Competition, Fundraising, Social, Creative/Historian, and Recruitment.

Being an officer is a great honor, but it is also a BIG responsibility/time commitment, including non-executive positions. I encourage each of you to think about the position you're running for and make sure you will have the time commitment to do so. If y'all have any additional questions about the officer positions and what they do, please contact a current officer and ask.

To include your name on the ballot for the executive officer elections or include your name on the list of potential non-exec. officer appointees, submit your application to TAMU10SELECTION@GMAIL.COM by WEDNESDAY, April 10TH at 12PM with the following information:

Women's Tennis Match - Scoring Volunteers Needed

Challenge Matches Regarding Sectionals

Howdy Ags!

Due to some confusion regarding the rules for challenge matches and eligibility for sectionals, I've been asked to provide a reminder to everyone who is planning on playing.

To be eligible for sectionals (as stated on the website) you have to have played at least one previous club tournament. This is a USTA rule and is not something we take lightly.

Also, as I mentioned in a previous email, the last day to initiate a challenge match in order for it to count for sectionals is TODAY. That being said, as a general rule challengers need to send an email to our new challenge ladder email (tamu10scompetition@gmail.com). Please keep in mind that any challenge emails sent to our main email will not be considered valid.

New Year, Same Awesome Club!!

Howdy Ags!

Yes it's a new year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Break and are having a fantastic first day back (I forgot my phone). 

I'm going to give you guys a few updates about our schedule for the upcoming semester and hopefully I don't forget anything.

First off, our first tournament will be taking place this upcoming weekend in Dallas. Captains should begin to get in touch with everyone going as soon as the draws are released. I apologize for not blasting off an email about this but hopefully most of you got the invite from Jacob on Facebook. If you did not hear about it then please make sure to join our Facebook page "Texas A&M Tennis Club" so that you can stay up-to-date with the latest!

Secondly, practices will be starting back up this week on the usual Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 PM time period at the Omar Smith Tennis Center. Make sure to bring those student ID's!

Next on the agenda will be our spring club sign-up day on January 20th for any and all who have not signed up for the club and/or want more information about us. As I am still not sure how our informationals are going to go, I will send out another update once our officers have a chance to meet and discuss it.

Finally, let's not forget that Sectionals, our BIGGEST TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR, is coming up on February 15th! The last day for challenge matches to be accepted for this is January 26th. Mark it in your calendars and make sure you've paid dues if you would like to attend!

If I've forgotten anything or any of you are confused about something don't hesitate to ask!
