Anyways, attached is the scorecard we use for all the matches. The second page of that is all the WTT rules. Your captain's already have all this memorized :), but it might be beneficial for everyone to know all the rules as well.

Since everybody is playing on Friday, if you dont have class or any plans, come out and support some of our other teams that might be playing before you.

If you have one, please wear the uniform on Sat. Otherwise please wear this year's maroon club t-shirt, then any other maroon shirt with white shorts. We will be taking a TAMU Team picture on Sat morning before play.

Hey-

Ya, so get pumped about our first (?) official club-wide cookout... happening tomorrow before practice 6:30-8p at the grills and picnic tables right outside the varsity courts, then practice as normal 8-11p. If you plan on eating, go ahead and let us know by RSVP-ing on facebook, link below.

Baylor Tournament Teams

Baylor Tournament (girls needed)

Howdy Ags,

First and foremost, we have the awesomely fun Baylor tournament this weekend. Now as for the girl situation, we can use more girls but as of right now we have enough girls to make seven teams, and due to people not being able to go we have open slots for both guys and girls. Therefore, guys if you want to play with us, email us back asap, it will be based on a first come first serve basis. And girls we have spots for you too.

Secondly, the cookout is next Wednesday not this Wednesday, so if anyone is confused we will not be there this Wednesday.

Third, we will be having practice tomorrow night, unless crazy conditions.

Fourth, for those of you going to the tournament we need to know who can drive. Please email us back if you have a car and can drive. If you are worried about gas money we require all players to pay around 10 dollars to the driver of their choice.

Fifth, to all captains i need you to get all people going to the tourni to sign a release form. This is incredibly important and we will not allow anyone to go without a form.

Spring 2008 Team Captains

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am pleased to announce the captains of our 2008 competitive teams for sectionals.  Please contact your captain and confirm that you will be playing Sectionals in College Station in 3 weeks. If you are not playing, please let us know so we can make adjustments.  Captains please make sure that you establish contact with your team members (both guys and girls).  I encourage you guys to have additional practices before our tournaments and maybe meet up outside of tennis to get to know each other a little more.  Team unity is and has always been an integral part of our success as a club and on the court.  As competition officer, I will try to ensure unity in the club.  We are excited about this upcoming season and plan on continuing our success as the best tennis club in the nation.  Thanks and Gig'Em.

Howdy Everyone,

 

yes, its finally here, the moment everyone has been waiting for, the first email from the first ever tennis club historian (because I know all of you are as excited about this as I am).  Anyway, as you might have guessed from the title of this historic email, the club is in need of a video camera to borrow for a few events, we were really wanting to get some clips of practice, tournaments and the upcoming social to put together but sadly we have nothing to film them with at the moment.  So if you have a camera and dont mind us borrowing it just reply back to this email or find me at club.

Howdy-

We are looking for a group of 3 people to play fun indoor tennis games
with little under privalidged kids for 1.5 hours this Sat.

Interclub singles tourni on Feb 16-17

Howdy-

On Feb 16-17 we will be having our singles division of our tournaments we put organize every semester. The doubles and mixed version will be happening later in the semester.

Like all of our tournaments, there are no entry fees for members, $20 for non-members. Registration is online, at our website, and is due next Wednesday, Feb 13, 2008. We have a few different divisions to choose from... and if it works out, the Finals matches will be played during practice on Sunday.

Kevin (director of ops) has rented a bus to drive some of the stadium club members down to Houston for the game, and its not filled yet. Complete Teams/Line-Ups/Challenge Rules

Hey Guys,

Its me again.  We have updated the teams/line-ups to include everyone (guys and girls) we know that is interested in competing with us during the Spring semester.  If you do not find yourself on the list, please us know and we will add you.  We have also compiled a list of rules for the challenge matches.  As David mentioned, we are committed to bringing as many teams as we can, so keep bringing girls so we can fill our teams!

All of these updates can be found on our website tennisclub.tamu.edu through the link "Check out the ladder" or directly @ tennisclub.tamu.edu/ladder

The ladder on the website will show the latest teams, so base your challenges off that ladder.

Contact Information for each person is also posted in a link, "player info"
Challenge Rules are posted under 'rules"

P.S.  I encourage you guys to start challenging now and start moving up the ladder, you only have about 3 weeks till the teams are finalized!  Challenges are not meant to be personal, it is strictly in the best interest of the club to have our teams sorted in the most competitive manner.  So Good Luck and Have Fun!

San Antonio Match Canceled, important info

Howdy yall- (funny how Matt misspells that every time...)

Do to the lack of available courts in San Antonio, we will be withdrawing from the three-way match next weekend... Driving 6hrs in one day wasn't sounding very fun anyways.

We will probably be adding a few more Saturday events after sectionals... stay tuned.

IMPORTANT:

In other news, if yall haven't heard, we hope to set a new record at sectionals this year, beating out ourselves, again, by having the most teams at a sectional/regional event. Our goal is 15 teams... that means if you know of ANY ladies who have played tennis before... or would like to start coaching one... let us know and invite them out to practice and we'll get them on a sectionals team. We have t-shirts, future membership discounts , and more :),  available as finder fees.

Ya, so with the shirts... if you haven't picked yours up yet, you need to get on that. Will be giving them away after sectionals.

WEEKEND MATCHES

Howdy Yinz!!!!

GIG 'EM men's bball team for trouncing TU by 17 wednesday night!!


Hey y'all. First off, good luck on all your challenge matches and preparations for the match in San Antonio next weekend.  As far as this weekend goes, it's time for more aggie tennis.  The FTA women's tennis team has 2 matches tomorrow saturday February 2. First at 10AM, doubt any of us will be awake for that, against TSU and the second at 5PM against Houston.  So get your FTA National Champ Tennis club shirts ready to watch some great women's tennis as they kick off their seasons with a double header tomorrow.

Also on sunday at 1PM our FTA men's tennis team faces off against Washington in a Big 12-Pac10 showdown.  This will be the same as last week as far as practice goes...Come out and support some exciting freshmen and our men's team continuing our win streak and as soon as the match is over, practice will begin.

Alright ags, time to take a break from classes starting to heat up and watch some phenomenal men's and women's tennis this weekend.
